Third Sunday in Lent

 "My eyes have seen Your salvation."

Luke 2:30

Why is it my eyes are so often closed

to the breadth of Your salvation?

When day after day

here and now

You long to save me

from 

taskmasters

grace killers

freedom takers

rest mongers

You open to me

Your storehouse of riches

and reveal

all that is freely given 

for me

This day of Sabbath rest

I sleep

weary

and receive 

gratefully

salvation
