The Resting Place

Rest is far more than an afternoon nap

or a good night's sleep

Rest is a quiet evening with a captivating book

but still so much more

Even a "resting place" is only a place

unless 

there is a rest within

I've spent the past couple of weeks with a

spirit that has felt anything but restful

and though there are many contributing factors

two truths have awakened me yet again--

I will be at rest when I am content with who I am 

and

I will live in the quiet of rest when I am

detached from outcomes

and attached to Jesus 

Pursuing rest with Him
